Fact Sheet: Social Security and Elderly People of Color

New estimates show the role of Social Security in keeping elderly people of color out of poverty. For the first time, data are shown separately for Native Americans and Asian Americans, as well as for African Americans, Hispanic Americans, and white Americans. This fact sheet, based on a paper presented at Social Security and People of Color: Unity Conference ’99, held in Seattle, WA, lists and explains these data.
